Frequently Asked Questions

Is Avanti for me?

You don’t just ride. You train. You race. You know that any day on a bike is a good day.

Avanti tours are built for riders who live and breathe il ciclismo.

If you’re the kind of athlete who dreams about tackling the routes you’ve only seen on TV—Alpe d’Huez, Stelvio, Mortirolo, Carrefour de l’Arbre, or the Oude Kwaremont—our camps are for you. You don’t just want to ride. You want to test yourself on routes that define cycling history.

But it’s not just about conquering climbs.

Avanti is about camaraderie. It’s about pushing through the hardest days, together. Because when the group’s energy is right, everyone rides stronger.

We believe growth comes from more than just effort. It comes from showing up ready to ride to your limits, and from sharing time with others who live the same lifestyle.

If that’s you—you’re already one of us. What are you waiting for?

Our levels reflect fitness, comfort on varied terrain, and consistency, not race results or ego. We have a whole page dedicated to this topic, which you can find by clicking here.

Individually, these rides are nothing close to epic. But string a few days together—and you’ll feel it.

Avanti tours are challenging by design. They’re for riders who want more than just scenic cruising. Think big days. Iconic terrain. Legendary routes.

But tough doesn’t mean brutal. You’ll set your own pace. Our guides and support crew make sure everyone has what they need to go all-in—and enjoy it.

To manage the challenge, some folks choose a shorter option on some days. Others will start the trip strategically by renting and e-bike to manage the most challenging parts of the terrain.

After you book your trip, we can work with you to make a decision and be appropriately resourced for your adventure.

Ride hard. Recover well. Repeat.

Bring your own bike—or rent one there. We’ll let you know.

Every tour is different. Some routes demand your personal setup. Others are better suited to a rental from one of our trusted local partners.

Before you book, read the details on your Trip page. If you’re still note sure, Contact Us and we’ll tell you exactly what’s needed—so you’re dialed in and ready to ride.

Small by design—usually 7–15 riders. We keep it intimate so that everyone feels supported. Small means the group dynamic remains strong. Each day of camp means we build a group identify where a sense of shared accomplishment defines the experience.

Can non-riders come? It depends on the tour. Riding partners are always welcome as full participants.

Non-riding partners? Some tours are a great fit—with plenty to see and do nearby. Others are more remote and ride-focused.

Where we stay is part of the ride.

We’ve hand-picked every stop—think ancient farmhouses, family-run guesthouses, places with real character. The kind of spots that make you feel like you live there, not like you’re passing through.

They’re not just charming. They’re recovery-ready. Comfortable, quiet, and designed to support big days on the bike.

It’s the mix of culture, comfort, and performance that makes the difference.
